When reading the book of Revelations most people breeze past the first and second chapters as introduction or prologue. The fact of the matter is that these chapters are the keys to understanding the book of Revelations.
Nestled in the beginning of the first chapter is a section which speaks of the Seven Spirits of God and the Seven Churches. Each one of these spirits controls one of the seven churches.
Revelation 2 vs. 1-7 Ephesus
The first church, Ephesus, is told of its attributes and short comings and is then told that those who overcome in this church or in this spirit which to us is a level of understanding will eat the fruit of the tree of life in the midst of the paradise of God. These people are at the lowest level in God's kingdom. They are unwilling or unable to proceed deeper into the "WORD", but none the less they still possess a high degree of faith & receive their reward accordingly. This is the first level of understanding the Bible. As you study more and more you will suddenly come to realize that there is a deeper understanding. This goes on til you reach level seven. No two churches receive the same reward, the higher you go the greater the reward. Study the churches, see for yourself.
Rev. 2 vs. 8-11 Smyrna
Level two is the church of Smyrna. After being told of their attributes and short comings those who overcome will recieve a crown of life. That is life within themselves and not just by eating of the tree of
life.
Rev. 2 vs. 12-17 Pergamos
Level three is the church of Pergamos. They are told that they who overcome in this spirit of understanding will recieve a white stone with a new name written in it. This stone and name will signify their position in God's Kingdom on earth. We will not all be equal, a kingdom has a king with dukes, earls and servants on every level. Those who believe that they will be equal to Moses, Elijah and all the noble martyrs who have gone on before, are taking the highest room at the feast, as Jesus said and are subject to the embarassment of being put in their place by the "MASTER"..
Rev. 2 vs. 18-29 Thyatira
Level four the church of Thyatira, is the final level of God's earthly kingdom. Those who overcome in this level will rule the earth as Kings. As Jesus said in the parable, some will rule over five cities, some over ten.
These four churches make up the earthly portion of God's Kingdom. Each one receiveing their place according to what they are able to receive and the Spirit they accept..
Now it is time for the heavenly portion of God's Kingdom.
Rev. 3 vs. 1-6 Sardis
Level five is the church of Sardis, those who overcome in this church at this level of understanding will be given a white robe and will walk the streets of New Jerusalem with Jesus, that is the spiritual Jerusalem. And Jesus will speak their names before God and before his angels. They will be the citizens of New Jerusalem. The least of these will be greater than all those before.
Rev. 3 vs. 7-13 Philadelphia Level six is the church of Philidelphia. Those who overcome at this level will be made pillars in the temple of God. They will be the priests of the New Jerusalem and will minister in the temple.
Rev. 3 vs. 14-22 Laodicea Level seven is the church of Laodicia. Those who overcome at this level will be the highest of all. They will sit with Jesus in his throne. In other words they will exercise the same creative power as Jesus.
"To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life which is in the midst of the paradise of God."
"be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life."
"To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written which no man knoweth saving him that receiveth it."
"And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations."
"He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before His angels."
"Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall no more go out: and I will write upon him the name of my God and the name of the city of my God, which is New Jerusalem, which cometh down from Heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name."
"To him that overcometh, will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame and am set down with my Father in His throne."
